Mischievous German techno sensation FJAAK is coming back to Belgrade, fresh on the wave of ‘FJAAK THE SYSTEM’—a powerful collection of high-octane, analogue techno
The album has morphed into an electrifying new live show, with a regional premiere set for September 13th at Apgrade. Techno’s favorite boy band is stepping out of the Mixmag cover to deliver massive drops, thumping breakbeats, and pure club euphoria, alongside a no-filler lineup of support from the likes of ANNĒ, IMOGEN, and TADI.
FJAAK have been releasing music since 2012, with two LPs along the way: their self-titled debut in 2017 on Modeselektor’s Monkeytown label and 2018’s “Havel” on their own FJAAK imprint. Before making regular appearances at Berghain and playing festivals like Movement Detroit, Awakenings, and Melt!, FJAAK cut their teeth throwing parties in Spandau, a district at the end of Berlin’s U7 line. Spandau also lends its name to the ambitious imprint Spandau20, founded by FJAAK and friends. The collective delivers techno in diverse forms, from jacking warehouse and electronic peak-time treats to Breaks and IDM, balancing old-school and new-school sounds flawlessly.
The rave on September 13th is a definitely one if the highlights of Apgrade’s 2024 season, with Spandau20 co-presenting one of the most exciting lineups the city has seen in a while.
ANNĒ is flying the flag for Greek techno with her own adrenaline-drenched productions and a singular approach to DJing. So far, she has released on Scotland’s mighty Soma imprint as well as Ben Sims’ legendary Hardgroove label for her widely praised Selenic EP. ANNĒ is fully dedicated to bringing Detroit, ’90s, and ’00s techno influences into a fresh perspective.
IMOGEN channels dystopian electro, UK techno, and choppy breaks, drawing influence from her storied years of living in London. Monthly slots on NTS Radio serve as a testing ground for upcoming material on her WIGS imprint and provide an outlet for hosting groundbreaking producers from across the electronic spectrum, including Clouds, Mall Grab, and Tommy Four Seven. With a Fabric residency under her belt, she has recently found a new home in Berlin’s famed hotspot Tresor.
TADI has been a constant fixture in Apgrade’s recent programming due to her impeccable selections and taste for uniting seemingly disparate sounds into a coherent dancefloor experience.
Get ready to close down the summer club season in style with Apgrade and Spandau20 joining forces to curate an epic journey at Belgrade’s legendary venue Barutana.
