The leader of the German techno scene Chris Liebing will launch the new season of Apgrade events on the 27th of May in Belgrade’s Barutana! Producer from Frankfurt has a deep connection with the Balkans and for many years he has been considered here as one of the top three performers of the world’s techno scene.  In Belgrade, he will be supported by our producers on the international rise Filip Xavi and Monosaccharide, and the night at Barutana, beneath the walls of Kalemegdan fortress, will commence with the experienced Vlada Janjic. A limited series of the early bird tickets are sold at the box office of Gigstix and Eventim at price of 890 dinars, while the regular ticket prices will be higher.

After 25 years on the scene, Chris Liebing is one of the leading techno artists of today and headliner of events such as Time Warp, Burning Man, EXIT, Awakenings, WMC, BPM, Hyte, ADE, Monegros, DEMF, Electric Zoo, Nature One and others. His marathon trip calendar is considered to be one of the busiest, with sold-out performances on all continents. He is a regular star of the biggest parties in Ibiza organized by his colleagues such as Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Loco Dice and Sven Vath! As a mater of fact, Liebing is this year’s program leader of Carl Cox’s farewell season, which in the opinion of the public will be the largest ever in the history of the popular Spanish island! His busy schedule leaves him little time to work in the studio, but his influential label “CLR” is synonymous with contemporary techno sound.

A master on vinyls, Liebing is still among the first to use the technological innovations that have provided by numerous digital devices, making his DJ sets practically live performances. His act involves production in real time and mixing a few tracks at the same time, along with the studio elements and unpublished works. Many of his colleagues point out his performance as unique and always different.

He began his career in 1990, and soon after he opened his own club, followed by the first publishing house out of which his famous “CLR” will grow out of . At the end of the nineties his way to the top of the electronic scene became certain, and soon awards such as “Best DJ”, “best remixer” and “Best Producer” arrived. His “CLR” show, which ran from 2009 to 2015, is written in techno history as one of the most closely followed and, more recently, he started airing his new show every Monday under the title “AM / FM”.

In the new, second season, Apgrade will host some of the leading electronic artists, like it did last year with Richie Hawtin, Nicolas Jaar, Loco Dice, Mathew Jonson, Function, Efdemin, Valentin Stip, Mike Huckaby, Julian Jeweil, Sebastian Mullaert, Fabio Florido, Caleb Calloway and others. This year’s Apgrade weekend will be held on the 2nd and 3rd of September in Belgrade and the headliners for the event will soon be released.
