Intense double bill backed with vigorous local support kicks off Apgrade Season Nine on the 21st of April in Drugstore!
Max Kobosil grew up in Berlin, discovering Techno when it emerged from subculture into modernity. His musical aesthetic is shaped not only by his upbringing but also by the cathartic energy informed by a whole range of electronic music styles.
Aside from releasing regularly on Berghain’s in-house label Ostgut Ton, the Neukölln resident also runs his own R – Label Group imprint, which he uses as a platform to promote releases by up-and-coming Berlin producers at the forefront of a riotous approach to dance music.
Kobosil is considered one of techno’s fastest-rising DJs and producers, having helped pioneer a sound that is at once deep, fast, and aggressive. The combination of dark and ecstatic is at the foundation of his powerful approach to steering audiences through pulse-raising club music.
Trailblazing Brazilian artist Valentina Luz is another major addition to the line-up. Her presence opens up new spaces not only for the LGBTQIA+ community she proudly represents but for all artists who are willing to experiment.
Her Brazilian roots reverberate through a hybrid selection, retaining what is essential – a solid groove and functionality that is unequivocally transferred to the dancefloor.
Filip Xavi is very experienced with taking care of closing duties in Drugstore room one, while Maria Karan sets out to prepare an Apgrade debut to get the floor fired up for Valentina and Kobosil.
Keep your eyes peeled on our social media as we’ll reveal many delights very soon, including the main event – Apgrade festival 2023 which is in store for September.
