March 30, Hangar – Luka Beograd
Apgrade’s never-ending production ride kicks off its fifth season on March 30 with Apgrade family – live performance of German producer and melancholic melodies charmer Recondite, and VAAL with whom we’ll celebrate the release of her debut album “Nosferatu”. Vitanov, who we listened to last summer at Apgrade Weekend, and Apgrade protégé, Marko Milosavljević, will serve the intro and outro for the first spring rave at Hangar.
Tickets are available at gigstix.com and tickets.rs box offices and online for the price of 890 RSD and 1390 RSD for VIP.
You probably know that Lorenz Brunner stands behind the Recondite moniker, but what you might not know is the story of the quest of nature-loving Lorenz for Recondite, the master of introspective techno in his own genre. With a set of outlets for his expressions such as Dystopian, Innervisions and Ghostly International, Recondite defends the integrity of compassionate techno from his debut “On Acid” to his fifth album “Daemmerlicht”. He met Apgrade’s audience two times, first at Kalemegdan in 2016 and then at Drugstore in 2017, and we still didn’t decide which ovation won. This time Recondite returns to Belgrade under Hangar’s roof, to embrace our audience with his live set for the third time.
On March 30 we have the opportunity to congratulate VAAL on the release of her debut “Nosferatu” which nods to trip-hop and breaks of the nineties. This British producer’s secret is the long-standing accumulation of ideas before her career and outside the club scene, without any influence of trends, and with only inspiration she herself picked. Friendship with producer Luz Cazal led her straight to the Italian techno duo Tale of Us. Inspired by what they heard, Karm and Matteo left the doors of their world wide open, to which VAAL brought only more. She soon started Baastard Records and anchored herself into the electronic music scene with “Wander To Hell” which, as well as the following collab with Tale of Us, “Monument”, was released on Afterlife. Besides performing, her connection with the club scene remains telepathic, as if she is the genius of balance known as JOMO (joy of missing out).
Both guests from abroad weave soundtracks of today to which Belgrade audience relates. Laurent Garnier, Sven Väth, Maceo Plex, Nicolas Jaar, Loco Dice, Tiga, Tale Of Us, Solomun, Ben Klock, Marcell Dettmann, Chris Liebing and Marco Carola are some of the previous Apgrade guests that kept you waiting for this announcement.
If you watched The Young Pope which features Recondite’s “Levo”, then don’t let others tell you the big twist of episode 01 of the new Apgrade season!
