In the past three years, Apgrade Weekend has been reserved for the first days of September as a kind of finale of the great music events season under the open sky. After three editions at which we witnessed the sets of the electronic scene leaders such as Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Amelie Lens, Dixon, Tale of Us and numerous other, next, fourth edition will be held at the very beginning of the summer season, on the 1st and 2nd of June in Barutana! In the well-known period, from September the 6th to 8th, the fifth anniversary of the Apgrade Weekend will take place, traditionally located in the trench below the Military Museum at Kalemegdan.
The vice champion of the last RA list and the Glasgow music-maniac Jackmaster will perform in Barutana on June the 1st alongside the French electro diva, whose sound again dominates the world scene – Miss Kittin. Next day, on June the 2nd, the famous fortress will be upgraded by Kristian Beyer of the famous German tandem Âme in his DJ format and by Ostgut Ton techno innovator and resident of Berghain, Answer Code Request! Killer lineup in June will be amped by Marko Milosavljevic and Feloneezy, while weekend tickets will cost 1590 dinars for the floor and 2290 din for the VIP Teras, while one-day tickets at the price of 990 dinars for the floor and 1390 dinars for the VIP will be sold at cash registers and via Gigstix.com and Eventim.com.
When we talk about the current year being in the sign of electro styles from the house or techno range, then we have to talk about one of the first women who have paved the way on the scene, which is also the eternal merit of the very loyal Belgrade audience. Considering that Miss Kittin easily packed clubs, not just Barutana, but also double its size, the Trench below the Military Museum, and that this time she is joined by Jackmaster, the star of the biggest clubs and festivals around the world, to whom this will be the first Belgrade performance, it is clear that there will be a lookout for an extra ticket for the Apgrade Weekend in June!
In addition to being at the top of the world scene for years, Jackmaster owns the ultimate label Numbers, while his sets have been featured by the most important electronic music brands like Fabric, DJ Kicks and Resident Advisor. Both of them are known for their authentic DJ skills to overcome the narrow style limitations that have long suffocated the world scene, so today Miss Kittin and Jackmaster stand out proud due to their courage while mixing wide range of genres in the service of its majesty – top-class party.
And after we listened to Klock and Dettman at Ostgut Ton parties in Apgrade’s production, there came a turn for Patrick Gräser, better known as Answer Code Request. Thanks to a very original production in recent years, he became a true guard of the Berlin techno scene, and his new album “Gens” last weekend premiered to the audience of the most famous techno club Berghain, where he is a prominent resident.

The symbol of modern Berlin and possibly the world’s largest electronic publishing house in this decade, is certainly Innervisions – a label that has been specially designed by Dixon and the duo Âme. Always performing as a separate, intriguing tandem made by Frank and Kristian, made it possible for us to have two faces of a wider musical expression, which in 2018 regularly fills the main slots at the world’s largest stages. This spring, they are preparing two large Innervisions parties, in Paris and Barcelona, and what they are preparing for this season, only the fastest and happiest will have the opportunity to hear in the authentic ambience of Belgrade’s Barutana, whose capacity is covered with ramparts in front of the old powder warehouse of the Belgrade Fortress.
In the past three years at Apgrade events in Belgrade, we have listened to the leading performers of the global electronic scene, such as Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Solomun, Amelie Lens, Nicolas Jaar, Dixon, Miss Kittin, Guy Gerber, Modeselektor, Tale of Us, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Chris Liebing, Loco Dice, Recondite, DJ Tennis, Tiga, Michael Mayer, Function, Agoria and many others.
