One of the most prominent figures of contemporary electronic music, Marcel Dettmann, a passionate collector of records thanks to whose efforts in the music publishing and distribution have grown many generations of German artists. Access to a large number of rare editions through personal record store gave Dettmann an exceptional breadth of music, but also made his early sets true techno marathons. Today’s main star of many festivals and their biggest stages, Dettmann becomes a resident even in the old Berlin, now fallen Ostgut club, from whose ashes arose today’s Berghain, the largest global clubbing phenomenon of all time whose fame got personally disseminated by his uncompromising techno sets and the foundations of modern production. In addition to the publishing house Ostgut Ton, which admits his as one of its undisputed symbols, Dettmann has carefully created the sound of his MDR label with artists such as Answer Code Request, Francois X, Anthony Parasole and his main protege Max Kobosil.

Terence-Fixmer-by-©-Pierre-Debusschere_1Rare are the names of the techno scene, whose work is so vast and varied, but manage to remain in the shadows for so long, as is the case with Terence Fixmer. His releases are present since 1993, and his obsession for EBM (Electronic Body Music, not to be mistaken with EDM) scene and bands like Nitzer Ebb, crucially contributed to the birth of electro-techno scene. Fixmer’s fascination with massive synthesizer lines in conjunction with a distinctly percussive sound of Detroit, created a new school within Europe, without which one can not imagine today’s techno set. Album “Muscle Machine” (International DeeJay Gigolo, 1999) brought him global recognition, followed by the albums for other capital publishers such as Music Man, Electric Deluxe and Liebing’s CLR. Fixmer’s impressive list of 2015 got rounded by the cult Ostgut Ton through the re-release of his single “Aktion Mekanik Theme” from 2003, which were then remixed just Dettmann and Kobosil and his new EP “Beneath the Skin” is currently the most recent edition of the Berlin techno institution.

Kobosil_91-2_by-Sven_Marquardt Alongside the “champions” of the house performance will be held by a 25-year-old Max Kobosil, a representative of an entire generation that grew up between the colossal columns of Berghain, concrete and music. After a well received remixes for the duo Barker & Baumecker, and the later mentioned Fixmer classic, Kobosil continues with independent publications on Ostgut Ton, whose culmination is his highly acclaimed debut album “We Grow, You Decline”. Today his performances are accompanied by the audience across the globe, from Tokyo to New York, a basic Klubnacht in Berghain and Ostgut Ton specials almost impossible to imagine without his name on the marathon program.
