For the upcoming first ▲ (Apgrade) weekend in a trench under the Military Museum at Kalemegdan, along with two day tickets, there will also be a sale and a limited number of individual tickets from today. On the first Apgrade evening, Friday, September 4th, in Belgrade, after less than a decade returns one of the leaders of the global electronic scene Richie Hawtin, and along with him come Julian Jeweil and Fabio Florido, the actual producers of the prestigious Minus label. The price of individual tickets for the first night is 1390 dinars, which was the original cost of tickets for both nights of the Apgrade weekend. The second night, on Saturday, September 5th, in the same place perform the great names of the Berlin scene and residents of the most famous world club Berghain! The spirit of Berlin will be brought to Belgrade by Efdemin, Function and Boris in the program of the Ostgut Ton label, the price of individual tickets is 890 dinars. Local support will be provided by Filip Xavi on the first, and Schwabe on the second evening. Weekend ticket currently costs 1,790 dinars and it will be changed to a two-day Apgrade bracelet in front of the entrance. Now there is also a very limited number of two-day VIP ticket at a price of 2,990 dinars, which allow separate entrance and bars, and also unlimited access to the orchestra, and a spectacular view of the entire trench! Richie Hawtin is a key figure in contemporary electronic music, a true innovator and the founder of one of the central techno labels Minus which will be presented in Belgrade on Friday, September 4th, in the peak of its 17 year old existence. Last year Hawtin renewed his famous alter-ego Plastikman, and released a new album “EX”, which is his first release since 2003. This, according to many a masterpiece of electronic music was recorded during a live performance of Ricci in 2013 at New York’s Guggenheim Museum, and in March this year out are very popular remixes signed by the leading producers Dixon, Tale Of Us, Recondite and Dubfire. Although Canadian, born in England, his name is strongly linked to Detroit and the local scene, where Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills and Carl Craig make the famous so-called triangle. The second wave of Detroit techno sound shaped the contemporary electronic music. The Ricci album “Decks, EFX & 909” from 1999, is one of the most influential in music history. This year the global “Minus” tour will be visiting the world’s biggest cities, and this summer Ibiza will once again host his impressive “Enter” parties where will perform the world’s most wanted names of today.
German DJ and producer Phillip Sollmann, known as Efdemin, is one of the pioneers of contemporary Berlin scene and one of the key people in the world-famous club Berghain. After he graduated electro in Vienna, Efdemin publishes the cult editions of “Acid Bells”, “Lohn” and “Brot”, after which he defines melodic techno sound influenced by the Detroit school and classic Chicago house music. In late 2013, he spent three months in Kyoto, where he was inspired by Buddhism and where he finished his third studio album “Decay”.
American producer Function, cult club Berghain resident and one of the most influential figures of techno today is coming to Belgrade on the first ▲ weekend in September. Dave Sumner, as his full name states, is the founder of the influential collective Sandwell District label and Infrastructure in New York. In search of the minimal techno sound he moved to Berlin in 2007, while in 2010 he published one of the most prominent contemporary techno album called “Feed-Forward”, followed by a new great album “Incubation” which is in the catalog of the prestigious label Ostgut Ton with supporting residency of their techno temple Berghain.
Julian Jeweil, the French DJ and producer, known for the unique melodic style of techno music, grounded in absolute No.1 hit “Air conditioned” from 2007 and the catalog of his home label Minus, which he represents himself as a resident of across the globe, he recently enriched with releases “Rumble” and “Los PISTOLOS EP.” In the catalog he has two well accepted maxi single “Hermanos” and “Bastard” for another extremely influential record label Plus 8, which Hawtin founded in 1990.
Boris is one of the most interesting representatives of the Berlin club life. His musical roots date back to the eighties when he lived in New York during the legendary club Paradise Garage, where his mentor was the famous Larry Levan. Boris is a resident of club Berghain, where the audience knows him for his long techno sets, but also its forward department Panorama Bar, where you can hear a variety of house formats from Ostgut Ton label.
Italian DJ and producer, Fabio Florido, had the good fortune to have spent the crucial years of his career with the mentor such as Hawtin, who, by his own admission, encouraged him to work hard. Fabio is a resident at ENTER parties and at prestigious Minus Showcase parties around the world, among which is the first Belgrade ▲.
