After a short winter break, Apgrade opens the new season with a performance by the legendary Miss Kittin!
Throughout a career that has gone far beyond the boundaries of club music, Kittin has continuously shaped the sound, aesthetics, and attitude of an entire generation, remaining true to her own distinctive expression.
Following the initial success of her debut release Champagne EP, created in collaboration with The Hacker for DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolo Records, she went on to collaborate with Felix da Housecat, further solidifying her status as an international star. Tracks like “1982,” “Frank Sinatra,” and “Silver Screen” became anthems that gave mainstream audiences a rare glimpse into the uncompromising sound that defined an era.
Producing music that sounds bold, witty, and free, Kittin became an inspiration and reference point for many artists who followed. Despite her popularity, her role in pushing boundaries is sometimes not emphasized enough. Her discography includes four solo albums, three more in tandem with The Hacker — including the still-current Third (2022) — dozens of 12” singles, and countless collaborations with some of the era’s most prominent producers (Sven Väth, LFO, Oxia, Monika Kruse, Dubfire, Hot Since 82…).
In addition to the indelible mark she has left on the international scene, Kittin has a deep and long-standing connection with our city’s music scene, built through a series of now-legendary performances beginning with her first in 2003 at SKC. That’s why her long-awaited return to Belgrade is even more significant.
